The Hardest Part of Building a Physique
The hardest part of achieving a respectable physique is not finding the magical workout, diet, or supplement.
The hardest part is showing up every day and putting in WORK.
It’s being dedicated.
Making the commitment.
You can talk all day about science, theory, and what’s optimal. You know I love it.
But none of it means a damn thing if you’re not going to show up every day and see it through.
I’m not going to sugar coat it.
Lifting weights is hard. It burns. It’s uncomfortable.
Dieting down sucks. You can’t eat whatever you want whenever you want. You’ve got to stay diligent and disciplined.
There’s a reason why the world is pitiful and out of shape.
It’s easier.
It’s the path of least resistance.
It’s “normal”.
It’s common.
But you don’t want to be normal.
And common isn’t necessarily correct.
So what is it that’s going to get you off your ass and putting in the work?
What motivates you?
Take a look out there and you’ll see lots of people who get results. And most of the time, they’re “doing it wrong” from a scientific standpoint. In fact, oftentimes it’s downright counterproductive and laughable.
Silly diets.
Stupid workout routines.
Falling for foolish fads and supplement ads.
But you know what?
They’re still going somewhere.
Why?
THEY’RE WORKING HARD.
And to them, they don’t give a shit whether they’re doing things “optimally” or not.
They want RESULTS and they know what it’s going to take to get there: hard work.
Hard work is the great equalizer.
Hard work even when things are tough is why lifting weights and sporting a top notch physique speaks volumes about a person’s character and is an instant attraction boost to the layperson.
It’s why when you’ve got a nice body you feel unstoppable and can go take risks and make moves when the rest of the world is being comfortable and cautious.
Hard work is the X factor.
I can channel that power to cut through diamonds with laser-like precision, but if I don’t have that energy source, none of it matters.
The evidence base is important, and it always will be if you want to get maximum results.
But never lose sight of the drive and determination of someone who wants it and is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish their goal.
