Your Attention Creates Life
Where you place your attention is where you will place your life.
It’s the most valuable thing you’ve got, and nothing can ever affect or ‘exist’ to you unless you put your attention there in this present moment.
Let that marinate for a few.
What you focus on will expand and set the gears in motion for the rest of your mental activity and the reality it creates, so let’s get it right.

DARK ROOMS
Imagine that you are in a pitch-black room with nothing but a bunch of orbs floating around you.
Each one of these orbs is its own little world made up of either a memory, a thought, a desire, an area of your life, or something outside of you like what someone says, something you hear, a song, or a show. Some pop in and out, and some are permanent.
The present moment is the biggest orb and right in front of your eyes.
Your attention is a flashlight cutting through the darkness, and the only way you can see anything is if the light shines on it.
By default, it’s stuck on the present moment, but your mind is a rebel and likes to shine it all around the room.
When it shines on one of those floating worlds, the light beams create a bridge, you travel to that world, and it becomes your reality. Your only reality.
The more it shines on one, the bigger it grows and because the room is only so big, the more likely it is that you’ll shine on it again.
The less your flashlight shines on it, the smaller it gets and the less likely it is that you will shine on it again.
Here’s the catch: your flashlight only has so much battery life every day.
Where are you going to shine it?
SHINE YOUR LIGHT
Guard your mind by keeping your attention occupied by your passions, positive thoughts, and the present moment.
Do not put your attention anywhere unless it is beneficial, necessary, or you have a concrete action to carry out. It is too valuable to let loose.
Eliminate any and all distractions from your life that knock you off course, contribute little, or bring you down.
That’s most things in this day and age.
YOU give them life, and they can’t touch you unless you allow them to.
Being able to control your attention and the things that vie for it are key to happiness and success.
