Life is a Gym
Life is far from perfect or easy.
Shit happens. Things get scary or uncomfortable. People come and go. Disaster strikes. We have to face challenges, and oftentimes we didn’t even ask for them.
It can be a lot to take in.
At times, it can be overwhelming. the future can look bleak and it’s hard to hang onto hope and find meaning.
Most times, it can seem easier just to stay put and let things pass.
One thing that has helped me tremendously is this:
Look at life like a gym.
To achieve your goals in the gym – whether that be an aesthetic physique or simply gaining size and strength for sport – you have to push yourself.
Things have to be hard.
If they weren’t, how would you ever grow?
The body is a survival machine and is remarkably efficient. It needs to face challenges and you have to push through that discomfort to get to where you want to be.
Why should life be any different?
To grow as a person, you’ve also got to face challenges.
You’ve got to step outside of your comfort zone.
You’ve got to overcome obstacles.
That’s the only way you’ll grow.
Whether you asked for it or not, look at everything as an opportunity to further yourself inside and out. In the gym or in life. It’s all just there to make you better – if you accept that task as your reality.
So every day, put your earbuds in and get your mind right.
You’ve got some growing to do.
